I have been brewing Kombucha for awhile now and have played around with different flavors but thus far this recipe is my favorite. I have gotten those who have been historically afraid of the drink to love the taste of this stuff. Give it a shot.
I make a citrus “limeade” and combine it with freshly brewed Kombucha and top it off with fresh mint for a wonderfully fizzy refreshing drink.
- 2 fresh lemons, squeezed
- 4 fresh limes, squeezed
- 1 cup coconut water
- Organic cane sugar to taste
I use 16oz glass bottles to make the magic happen. I fill them about 3/4ths of the way with freshly brewed Kombucha and then the rest of the way with my limade. About 1-2 ounces per bottle. Add 3-4 fresh mint leaves before sealing the lid.
After about three days this stuff will be ready to drink, but wait a litter longer (5-7 days) and it will be amazingly fizzy. I would place them in the fridge at 7 days for sure otherwise you will have a Kombucha explosion upon opening! Strain before serving.
